HI Everyone: Thanks so much for your responses on helping me figure out if Module 6 was for us or not. (K-6th grade) Well, I’m pretty close to just ordering it. But I need to get READY quick. We move in about 3 weeks. And once we do that, the new baby is coimg. So, I will be need to do my prep like ASAP, before the GOODS come in the mail….(and I could look this up for myself!)
What do I need to purchase for doing mapwork? I saw online a neat Mapping, Map Trek. But that seems quite expensive. What does SCM recommend using with Module 6? Will I be using the same map company for all Modules, or does it switch from year to year? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question….. 🙂
Thanks,
Kelly
PS–Anyone done Mapping the World by Heart? Is that for High School?
I’m not sure what module 6 covers, but we never bought the Uncle Josh’s Outline maps suggested for the other modules – we were always able to find the maps we needed online, but now my girls pretty much use Sheppherd Software’s free program to learn where things are located – it is not the same as map study, but it’s working well for us as I don’t have to do anything and my 9 and 7 year old have both learned all their states and capitals and the 7 year old has started learning the Asian countries, the 9 year old learned all of the African countries including much of the Middle East and Asia and is starting with Europe and my 5 year old is starting to learn her states… all while I sip coffee… OK, maybe I’m folding clothes too, BUT you get the idea. 😉
Also – did you download the free sample of module 6 – that will tell you all the resources needed and which are optional, just remember that even the “needed” resources can be substituted as you choose.
