Our son was a also adopted at 5…turned 6 two weeks after we got home. In the beginning he would hide from anyone who spoke Chinese to him and was obviously distressed. Now he doesn’t act like it bothers him nearly so much, just disinterested. I hate for him to lose that part of his heritage but don’t want to push the ticket if he’s not ready. It may just be something he has to come to terms with on his own time. As far as we know he was very well treated and is incredibly well adjusted now.
