  • Starting this month through May, my kids have birthdays. Hubby and I like to do something meaningful for each child at this time. So this year I’m considering dedicating a special hymn and/ or scripture verse for each child, in hopes it will become their own to remember and cherish.

Do any of you have special songs, verses, or other ideas to share that have become meaningful to your kids? I’d love to hear others’ ideas as I go along my own searching and praying.

My girls each have a word.  I started it as a Chirstmas tradition but since we hear them all year they claim their word and are constantly reminded of them.  Their words are:  Peace, Joy, Love, and Hope.  Anytime they hear a song or verse containing their word they get big grins and we share a special moment.  Obviously at Christmas, with decorations out everywhere, they see them much more so it is more special at that time.  It also makes it easier for me to pray for them.  They all have a verse as well in a little frame with their name but we run into the single words more often in life than their verses, but they are special to us too.
