Can anyone recommend some good magazines for kids 12 and under?  I was thinking about getting the boys a subscription, or recommending that their grandparents get them one for Christmas instead of something useless, noisy or that will be broken in the trash three days later. but the only kids magazines that I know of are Chickadee and Owl.  We’ve had Chickadee in the past, but it seems the content is rather lacking.  Is Owl any better?  What about Christian magazines?

Try Boys’ Quest http://www.funforkidz.com. It comes out every other month. Fun for Kidz comes out the other months and is activity oriented.

Also Clubhouse, or Clubhouse Jr. from Focus on the Family. And God’s World News for the appropriate ages.

God’s World News! Awesome!! They have from pre-k-highschool as well as adult mags. This is our second yr and my oldest loves it! And I have to admit..I like it too! 🙂

OOPS, looks like Jenn and I were typing at the same time! I considered Clubhouse Jr for a while..esp since it was from FOTF! But after looking it over, I thought there was too much “hip” things in it!! Just my taste, though! I am sure FOTF does it’s best to do the right thing.

Also, Answers In Genesis has a kid’s mag. based on animals and creation! Forgot about that one! 🙂

We love God’s World News here.  You can go through MFW website and get a discount too ~ http://www.mfwbooks.com/products/M50/70/0/0/1#magazines

We also subscribe to Clubhouse and Clubhouse Jr, but just got our first issues.  It’s okay, I like GWN way better.  Like 2flowerboys, I think it’s a little on the “hip” side.  We’ll see if the kids like it, but I do like FOTF and want to support their ministry so that is why we bought it in the first place.
