Magazine subscription suggestions for younger children

    My in-laws get magazine subscriptions for our children for Christmas each year. I love this!

    The problem is, this year they got one that we do not appreciate (Spider Magazine). I am going to try and cancel the subscription and put the money towards a different one. What ones would you recommend?  My children are 6 and 8 that would receive it.

    What about Clubhouse Jr. (Focus on the Family)?

    Ranger Rick, geared for ages 7 – 14

    Your Big Backyard, geared for ages 4 – 7

    They are both put out by the National Wildlife Federation.

    We have gotten Big Backyard in the past when DD was 4 and she loved it.  We haven’t gotten the Ranger Rick but I am sure it is excellent too and would like to subscribe some day soon.

    @ mrskatie: Just wondering which magazines you settled on, if you did??

    My 8yo ds loves animals and loves to receive mail, so I thought about getting him a subscription, but not quite sure which one.   Anyone have anymore suggestions or would Ranger Rick be our best bet??
