I’m getting super excited about the MACHE Convention next week in MN!!! I can’t wait to see the new SCM math book. Will the latest Laying Down the Rails companion be available there as well?
Thanks to the SCM crew for traveling to conventions. I’m sure it’s a quite a job, but it’s super helpful to be able to see the books and talk personally. I look forward to seeing you there!!
I’ll be there, too! So excited to be able to buy some printed SCM resources instead of printing them myself. I started a list of things to look at but then decided, oh, I’ll just look at every single thing!!
And, hopefully, we won’t have snow next week like we do today. April 11 and I just sent my girls out to shovel what looks to be a good 3+ inches of heavy snow.
Me too! Me too! This will be my first time going to a homeschool convention. I already have the handouts printed and ready for Sonya’s workshops I plan on attending. I also have a list of things to buy from SCM printed. I sure hope the new LDR book is there to view as well.
@Jenny, I know, right??? I think we have a good 5-6 inches out there. And school was cancelled as well. Here’s hoping for a great SPRING weekend next week! (And lots of melting snow!)
@Sarah. Wow, I just looked at the news and there were schools cancelled. Although, not in the metro where I am. Another advantage of homeschooling, right? Weather does not impede learning.
@Amber, have a great time at your first convention!
I’m hoping for warmer weather too! Here in Georgia it’s in the upper 70s today, and my feet are very happy wearing their comfy sandals. They are my “go to” shoe for conventions, because they are so comfortable and I’m usually on my feet all day. However, they don’t work well in snow.
But no matter the weather, we are looking forward to seeing you all and basking in the face-to-face fellowship!
We do try to bring some of every product to the conventions. Copies of the new Rails companion are on a truck right now, headed north. The plan is for it to arrive in time for MACHE.
It’s a balmy 34 -degrees here today in west central WI. I can only dream about sandals ;-)….maybe you could also bring a little of that Georgia sun with you on that truck…..heehee….
Sonya – I TOTALLY appreciate your sandals/conventions preference. Last weekend was my first convention (and pregnant) and I wore a pair of brown flats down to KC and TOTALLY did NOT pack any other shoes – and of COURSE my convention pants were BLACK!!! Fortunately, I was staying with my mom, unfortunately she’s a half size smaller than me – I ended up in some black sandals that were really inappropriate for the weather AND for my ghostly white, unmanicured feet! Thankfully, no one held that against us and we had a great convention!
I won’t be in MN, BUT Creating a Masterpiece will be there and now, they are offering students the chance to complete a masterpiece on site! Get to their booth early to sign up your dc to try this program first hand! We’re so grateful for all the help and support we’ve received from the SCM team!
I’m so looking forward to the convention. I was hoping that as I’m headed south to the convention (I’m across the border) that I could leave my winter boots behind!
