Living books about the beach

    We are taking a trip to the beach and want my kids to have living books to read before we go. I have a 3 year old thru 9 year old so a variety of stories and short stories would be helpful. Any suggestions for loving books about the beach? (We love outdoor secrets and jacks insects… Something along those lines)

    Jenny’s Surprise Summer is an out of print little golden book used in BFIAR.  Check your library.

    If you enjoy Thornton Burgess’s books, there is one about sea creatures. It’s quite long but you could just read selected chapters. We never made it through the entire book but enjoyed reading the chapters about shore life before a trip to the beach.
