    Can anyone help me understand the HS laws for your state?  We may have to move there for my dh’s job.  I have read some things on line, but none of it makes sense.  What is the least intrusive way to school there.  We presently live in Texas and there are no regulations or restrictions here.

    Hi, Cherylramirez, I am in Louisiana and homeschool my dd6. I would be glad to help you if I can. I may have better resources than the ones you have come across. Send me a private message with your email address and we can talk more at length. Based on what you have said, Louisiana is pretty similar to Texas so, for now, rest assured that it won’t be much different unless you would like for the state to monitor your progress. Some people chose that option for specific reasons. 🙂

    I’m in LA as well. We use the homeschool-as-a-private school option that you see in the HSLDA info. I write a letter to the state noting the name of our school, how many students, and our starting date of 180 school days. You can pm me also if you have specific questions.
