Hi– I am kinda new here and trying to plan for next year. My 12 year old daughter loves the lord of the rings triology. She has read the first book 2 times already in the past two years. I was thinking of having her do the Lord of the Rings Literature Lessons but i see that this series doesn’t come up until 10th grade on the curriculum planner. Should we go ahead and so it since her motivation is high? I want to catch that interest and motivcation while it’s here–she may have lost interest by 10th grade.

    thanks for any adivce,.

Hi! Here is Amelia Harper’s answer to the question of how old a child should be to complete the curriculum.

It sounds like a motivated 12 yo could do the program. I haven’t used it myself yet. If you have any further questions you can contact Amelia at the homescholar.org site also.

    HTH!
