I am in the SW rural suburbs of the Twin Cities, MN. Looking for others in my area to get the kids together with (ages 7, 6, 4, and 18 mths). Supposedly it’s a big homeschooling area, but I have yet to find one group listed in this area, or even another family other than 1 at church whose only child is grown up now. 🙁 I really don’t want to drive an hour into the Cities to get together with other Christian homeschoolers, kwim? But I suppose in the country, I might have to. Anyone? Anyone?
I live east of St. Paul not to far from the WI border…sorry…not on the SW side. I also have two children a bit older. However, I am sure that MACHE has a support group somewhere in your area where you could find a family or two who would have children in the same age range as yours are. I see there are two in Burnsville and a Catholic one that meets in Lakeville. There are also three listed for Prior Lake and two for New Prague. Perhaps those would work for you. Another thing I am thinking of is the “Living Education Retreat” in Windom in July. It is possible to learn a lot relating to Charlotte Mason and meet some great people there. One last idea is that there are many great homeschooling families (not necessarily CM) that attend Bethlehem Baptist, specifically the South Campus in Burnsville. My family does not attend Bethlehem, but I met most of my few special friends at the MusikGarten program at the Downtown Campus a number of years ago. Please e-mail me if you would like to “talk”!
Hope this helps,
Christina
