Hi
I am homeschooling my youngest (7 years 2nd grade, boy).
We are looking for others in our area, (SE Grand Rapids Michigan)
that would like to get together for field trips etc.
All of my other children are grown and my son is very social.
I my self am in my 50’s and have lots of parenting experience (5 older children 28 -18).
I would love to have a mutual encouraging relationship. (Titus 2)

We live on the north end in Cedar Springs, Michigan. Have you checked out the Homeschool Building? They have local CM groups. Also, Koinonia in Rockford Michigan has lots of co-op classes and much encouragment; some are CMers and lots of field trips. I’m mid 30’s and have been homeschooling for 7 yrs- last 3 of which have been CM related. I have an 8 yo boy who would LOVE a buddy to get together for trips and such. We also have a 13 yo boy and baby. It would be great to get to know you. I know there is another one on this group from GR michigan and I think from the south end. There was a post awhile back titled “where do you live?” you might want to check that out too. 🙂

My name is Cindy, we live right near 28th street on Eastern ave.
We have greenhouses. Huizenga Brothers Greenhouses.

I don’t have anything planned at the moment.
And am often without a car. My older daughters both work and leave me
without transportation. I can sometimes use my husbands van.
We have violin on Wed at noon and that would be a good day to do something
in the afternoon. Once spring get here we will be busy with our retail greenhouse.
We typically open that May 1st.
Daniel is 7, he will be 8 at the end of May. We are just got into 2nd grade reading.
(found out he is dyslexic) But are making great gains and hope to be done in June.
I am using MATH U SEE, which we love.
ok now I am rambling. but would love to hear what you are doing for history, and science.

@Cindy, I hope you don’t mind that I edited your e-mail address out of your post. Spammers have software that combs through pages all over the Internet looking for addresses they can send their junk to. I didn’t want you to get on their lists from posting your address. We have a private message feature on the forum that works well for getting in touch with each other. You can then exchange your e-mail address privately.
By the way, Karen and I have family in the area that we visit regularly. We’re avid gardeners so we’ll have to stop by and check out the greenhouse some time when we’re in town.
@Heather, the family we visit is also up in Cedar Springs, west of town.
Maybe we’ll all have to do an informal CM families meet-up event some time.

Doug – that sounds GREAT! We’d love to have an informal CM family meet up here. My husband is an avid gardner also. If youre out this way in the summer, we’d love to show you around our couple acres of gardens. 🙂 Hmmmm…I wonder if we know your friends up here. Its such a small world.
