I took German in high school, still love the language and speak it off and on with the kids.  Very basic, though, so I’ve basically done what I could without a curriculum.  My 11yo dd (Year 6 this fall) wants to learn more German, so I am looking for something we can maybe do together since I’d love to refresh my memory & learn more (the other kids are still learning Spanish primarily, this will be her 2nd foreign language), but something she can also do alone quite a bit, as well, if that makes any sense, since we’ll also have a new baby by the end of November/early December.  CD-Rom would be fine, if that’s the best; a book is fine, too – since I know pronunciation, I don’t necessarily need audio with it.  I prefer not to do Rosetta Stone, though.  Way too expensive for us.  Any suggestions?

Would this be something you’d try?

I linked to the first level; there are three in all.

How about the free Duolingo website?
