Longer Handicrafts

So I would like to find a handicraft for each of my kids.  Now this doesn’t in any way have to be the same craft for each of them.  I would like something that takes a bit of time, something that the end result can not be mastered in an afternoon, and something worth something.  I know this is the point to handicrafts!  I have 5 boys (almost 17-9yrs) and 2 girls (almost 7-5yrs) as of next year.  I was thinking of sticking with something either for a minimum of a quarter but hoping for longer.  I was also thinking the 1st round would be used for god-parent gifts from the kids.  What ideas do you have?  I need some new and inventive ideas!!  Ok…. so the other thing I would like them to be able to learn this (minus the girls being they are young) on their own.  Something they can take complete ownership of.  So what do you think?? 🙂
