My husband wants to read baseball books with my kiddos, but the ones they’ve been finding at the library would have CM rolling over in her grave – any suggestions for good living books related to baseball players or baseball in general for advanced reader 8 years old?

DS10 just started a series by John Tunis. The first book is The Kid from Tompkinsville. He’s enjoying it. This author wrote a bunch about baseball.

There are also some Childhood of Famous American bios about players.

Finding Buck Henry – I forget the author.  But I really enjoyed the book.  It’s about a boy who thinks his school janitor is the (now older) baseball star Buck Henry.  I think it’s for ages 8-10ish.  It’s fiction– but I thought it was really good fiction.
