kurtjenvb ParticipantHi – I’m wondering if anyone knows of some good living books about the ancient Hebrews that we could read along with our study of the OT? Also – any additional living books about Egypt (in addition to what I already have from SCM) would be great!
Thanks!
csmamma ParticipantIf you’re looking for historical fiction – Tirzah by Lucille Travis is good. Also, Sandi Queen has one called “From Egypt to Canaan: A Journey with Israel to the Promised Land” which, though I’ve not read yet, looks promising https://www.queenshomeschooling.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=79_131&products_id=562&zenid=0a571423fbed9a9383847f7456d51b58 .
Rachel White ParticipantThese are for a variety of ages. Some living, some not; some for more in depth study.

Rachel White ParticipantI forgot to add in this audio by Jim Hodges (or you can read the book):

This pt. 1 goes from Abraham to Queen Esther. The book goes all the way to the Fall of Jerusalem and destruction of the Second Temple, including the Maccabean revolts; in a narrative style.
TailorMade ParticipantOur family enjoyed Hittite Warrior and God King. Our youngest son was 6 or 7 at the time and called the first “Hitchhike Warrior.”
🙂
andream ParticipantI second “Tirzah” We read it last year with Module 1 and it was excellent
kurtjenvb ParticipantThank you so much for the good ideas, and Rachel, thank you for the great list of ideas – really appreciate it!
