We are spending some time on Oklahoma history this year, but I haven’t seen anything online that looks to be a living book written about Native Americans, the five civilized tribes, or the Trail of Tears.
Any suggestions?

It’s been a while, but we read a non-fiction book on this subject. I honestly can’t tell you how living it was. (For some reason I am not able to paste. I think my mouse is going bad) It is a We the People book called Trail of Tears.
There is also a non-fiction book called “Only the Names Remain”. I keep thinking I may have read that one. I have kids who graduated, so I can’t remember who read what:) Again, I don’t know how living it is.
If you want a living story, here are two fiction titles in our library. I have not read these.
Soft Rain: a story of the Cherokee trail of tears
Longwalker’s Journey: a novel of the Choctaw trail of tears
