Do Little Men first, then Jo’s Boys. I read these aloud but don’t remember any problems. There is a “troublesome” boy who causes trouble and runs away and there is discussion of his previous very hard circumstances, and there is an occasional sad incident but nothing I wasn’t comfortable reading to my crew of mixed ages. A bonus–Jo and Professor Bhaer’s school is very CM friendly!
