Literature study & writing for high school

    We did not use any type of literature study for 7th/8th grade. We read, narrated, discussed.  He is currently using Write w/ the Best and he is enjoying that right now.

    We have Writer’s Inc and Jensen’s Format Writing, which I’m assuming would work for the mechanics, but I guess I’m thinking for the creative writing, but  not sure.

    His narrations are good, but could use some direction and exposure to the “why’s” & “how to’s” for creative writing.  Maybe that’s not it, but I was looking at Excellence in Writing thematic lessons and Michael Clay Thomas’s site as well.

    Thank you for any ideas you may have for me.

    I don’t know anything about MCT, but I recently purchased EIW and my Ds will begin it on Monday.  He’s in the 11th grade, but I bought the 10th grade lessons for him to use for the remainder of the year.
