If you were going to schedule the Literature in Module 1 to order them from easiest to hardest, would Peter Pan and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland be the last read?  How about the EB White books (Charlotte’s Web) to start?

Hmmm, good question. I think I would put Mr. Popper’s Penguins as the easiest, followed by Pooh and E. B. White’s books, then yes, Peter Pan and Alice last. Anybody else have an opinion on this?

Thanks, Sonya.  I put Charlotte’s Web and Pooh first, but I think I’ll skim Mr. Poppers since I haven’t read it myself yet.  When I was reading through Alice and Peter Pan, they seemed to be the most advanced out of the selection.  Great selection, by the way!

Off subject ~ I am really enjoying the SCM Organizer, too!  Thank you guys!  While I don’t need any record keeping legally, this is a wonderful way to keep track of what my children have accomplished throughout the year.

    Hi Cindie,

Mr. Popper’s Penguins is not a book I would have picked up to read to my 8 year old ds-I had never even heard of it.  We started reading it last Monday (because of the SCM curriculum guide) and will finish it up tomorrow.  It is a really cute and funny story and my ds is begging for me to read “just one more chapter” every day.  Just thought I would share and thank you Sonya and the SCM team for all your hard work and great choices in literature!

    Blessings,

    Danielle,

Glad to hear you’ve read it.  It’s not one I would pick out for my girls either.

I would agree with what Sonya says concerning th books. Though, I dont think Alice is hard reading I just think it is the way it is written that can be difficult. If that makes sense?
