    Just bookmarked this list of “Charlotte Mason approved” Christmas books. Just about all of these titles were new to me. Enjoy!

    I have all these wonderful books on my shelves.  We just finished This Way to Christmas last night.  Delightful!  (BTW it has been reprinted by Yesterday’s Classics.)  And A Tree for Peter is one of the best books ever by the best children’s author ever.

    Thanks for sharing MamaSnow!  I just checked and my library has A Tree For Peter plus all but one of the remaining titles.  This just made my morning!

    That’s exciting, Christie!  It can be read at any time but is especially wonderful at Christmas.  Just have some tissues handy.

    Christie (or anyone else), where can you find A Tree for Peter at a good price?  Thinking this one may have to just go on my wish list for next year!

    In case anyone can’t find it as single title “A Certain Small Shepard” by Rebecca Caudill it is in the book The Candle in the Forest and Other Christmas Stories Children Love complied and edited by Joe Wheeler. I requested it ILL, and read the whole thing straight through myself last night. There are eight short stories. “A Certain Small Shepard” was very good and so were the rest!

    Not trying to steer the thread another direction or anything, but if you are looking for some holiday reading for yourself, I’ve been reading through two of Joe Wheeler’s other Christmas books, (Christie mentioned them on another thread) “Christmas in my Heart” – I think there are 21 volumes of these, I economized and checked out The Best of Christmas in My Heart, Vol 1 & 2. I’ve been enjoying them immensely.

    I just read A Tree for Peter in full. It was a lovely, lovely read that I intend to read to the kids starting tomorrow. Well worth looking for.

    We finally started reading A Tree for Peter last evening!  I just saw that Yesterday’s Classics reprinted this in paperback and it is available on amazon here.
