I just found these and am so thankful! Our library had only one adult biography on J. Audubon. All three of these artists are in the Module 1 Picture Study section of the Curriculum Guide. I just wanted to share 🙂

Awesome!  I’m so excited about these since this module doesn’t yet have a SCM portfolio.  Thanks Amanda! (a year later LOL)

These are so thorough!  Thanks, Amanda.  =)  And thanks, Lilly Lou, for bringing it back.  There are lots of things in those that I am going to use!

I just bought a lovely book that could be used with Audubon – A Nest for Celeste. I read about it here and it is delightful!

Thanks, missceegee, that looks great.  I’m going to see if my library has it-Audubon has been hard for me to find resources for…until today!  You guys are awesome.

I was planning on doing Audubon first thing this year, but now I’ve decided to save him for fall when we can spend more time outside and use it with nature study (it’s been 107 degrees in Tornado Alley-which is why we do school in the summer…we don’t do heat).  SO, I’ve decided to go ahead and start with Monet.  That way, I think, we’ll get a good feel for impressionism for when we visit Cassatt later.  I didn’t know Monet’s Impression: Sunset was the granddaddy of Impressionism…needless to say, I think he’s a good place to start.

    Thanks again, gals!
