Lightening Lit. questions

    Does this program pretty much cover literature and writing for you? I am looking at the 7th and 8th grade levels. It looks really good. Any reviews for me? Do you just add grammar to this? Thanks for you help.

    Also curious. Would there be enough challenge in these for high school?  I didn’t cover these books until high school.  I was thinking of using them in 8th and 9th.

    I like Lightning Lit but didn’t choose to use it for junior high.  I really focused in those years on written narration, beginning essay, and beginning to learn lit criticism.  I used them through high school for my second son and will use them for #3 soon.  They don’t really “cover” writing per se.  There are writing assignments, but it is not really a writing instruction course, at least the high school ones.  I also did a separate grammar course in junior high so we didn’t have to mess with it in high school, just do literature, essay writing and foreign language to keep our grammar skills fresh.  4myboys, I”m not sure–are you asking if the junior high ones are high school level?  I don’t know for sure as I’ve never seen them–I skipped them.  Among other problems for us, we’d long since read all the books.  LOL
