I am currently using 5 books needed that I have checked out from the library and have not completed them, yet they are due back and cannot be renewed, because we are only allowed 2 renewals, since then I of course have renewed twice and lost 10 days of usage, because we had a 10 day church conference (bad planning on my part). Now, we are not even half way through the books and will not be able to renew. What do I do? Please help.
Ask the librarian if they can extended it for you. Sometimes they will.
Are your kids allowed to have library cards? You can take it in and tell them you want to check it out on one of their cards. I’ve taken a book in that a friend had checked out and told them I wanted it on my card and they had no problem checking it in right then and then out on my card.
My library has “Educator” accounts for teachers. We can check out books for 6 weeks at a time with 2 renewals. That means I can keep books we’re using for school for quite a long time! You should ask if your library has a similar program for teachers. I wouldn’t have known if other homeschoolers hadn’t told me. HTH
In our library, we can put holds on books, so when they come available, the book is reserved for only you to check out. Perhaps you can put a hold on it, and start the check out process anew?
I also echo having one of your children check out the book on their card.
