I wanted to see how many people have used this book, and what they have thought about it. Also, what age ranges, was it a read a loud, or did you use it as independent reading, and what ages. Thanks!!
bkack, I just wanted to mention that our version has been edited a bit. So the copy you have from your library may be a little different from the one we carry.
No, not major differences. I basically did two things: (1) deleted a few comments that were opinions stated as universal facts and that would not contribute to the unity of the saints, and (2) added Scripture references to her many quotations and allusions to Biblical tie-ins to life in Egypt.
I LOVE This book. Can’t wait to read it to the kids, starting next week. Sonya has again done an amazing job of editing, and printing. This book is a gem, and may be one of the few that I don’t lend out;) not sure I could handle it not being returned.
I will be reading it with my two kids, 14 and 9. They can each glean what they can from it,and we will do narrations now and again, but mostly I just want them to soak in the flavour of Egypt through the authors words.
You can’t go wrong! Now I just have to order Outdoor Secrets. Not sure how I missed that one Sonya:)
It says to use it in Module 1, but in the bookfinder it is recommended for 3rd grade through 12th grade. Has anyone used this for a 1st grader, or should we wait until they are older on the second go around with this module?
If you have only a 1st grader, I would probably wait until next go around. If you have older children too, there would be no harm in the 1st grader listening in.
Yep, my 1st grader is my oldest, so I will save that for later. I would like to repeat 106 Days of Creation probably either 2nd or 3rd grade when her younger sister joins us, so I’ll incorporate that then.
Thanks!
Cindie
