I have been in need of some inventive and fun BUT useful stocking stuffer idea’s. I love filing there stockings and we St. Nick day so I need a couple really small idea’s for then also. I usually do the normal pencils, erasers, socks, undies, pocket knifes, ets (not all in the same year mind you).
So today when I went to buy more cloth diapers the store had these things called car bingo. Very cute, fun idea and they had enough different ones for all the boys to get one so I secretly had the lady hide them and then I bought them with the diapers, and thankfully no one was the wiser. So I’m looking for this type of thing. I don’t nor do we buy things that we don’t think will last more than a day.
My children are 11, 10, 8, 5.5 ,3 (all boys) & baby girl 9 months today (though she’s no problem being the 1st). But open this up to all ages and lets have fun.

Oh, also being our limit is small $100 from parents/santa and $15 on stockings these idea’s I’m looking for must be small. Thanks just wanted to add that, cause I have seen some “big” things in stockings.

Sometimes dollar stores have Bible-themed card games that your oldest 4 might enjoy. I’ve also found them in good condition at yard sales and secondhand stores.

How about some simple homemade items:
Bookmarks (create on computer and personalize, print and laminate)
Kid coupons – create coupons for simple things such as: stay up 20 minutes late, watch a favorite tv program, 20 minutes computer time, alone time with mom or dad, get out of 1 chore, pick the dessert, etc
Homemade playdoh – cheap and smells good, doesn’t crumble like the name brand
Homemade bath wash or bubble bath – also inexpensive to make
Homemade bath crayons

Target had some True To LIfe Crayola colored pencils on clearance that I got to put in stockings. I also make candies to put in them.

We’ve included:
Holy Trader cards (http://www.setonbooks.com/search.php?subject=&grade=&userSearchString=holy+traders&x=26&y=9&cookietest=true ), religious coloring books, mad libs, hidden picture books, mini prayer books, mini baby Jesus or patron Saint statue (we actually found a glow in the dark mini Jesus statue one year which my children love, they placed them alongside their beds), mini puzzles, those silly but fun winding drinking straws, pocket spiral notebooks, scramble square puzzles (http://www.rainbowresource.com/prodlist.php?sid=1257662072-295575&subject=19&category=3515), nativity scene stickers, fifteen puzzle (http://www.rainbowresource.com/search.php?sid=1257662072-295575), pocket flashlight (pen type or keychain type), holybear (http://www.holybears.net/SearchResults.asp?Cat=26), apple/orange/tangerine/other fruit, fruit roll-ups…… there’s more we’ve included throughout the years, but I’ll have to come back if it comes to me.
I always visit our local religious store and educational store and come up with quite a bit in those two places.
