Just figuring this pinterest out, but I think it will save me time. I always save links but then spend forever trying to find something I saw that I could use for a particular teaching moment. This visual aspect saves me from looking too far!
I used Christie’s idea to sign up for twitter and then deactivate. So far so good.
LDIMom: just follow our links to go to each of our main boards and click “follow all” at the top. Or you can follow individual boards if you prefer. I just added you. 🙂
Petitmom: I thought so too at first but it really doesn’t have to be that way… it is less social than facebook, although there is a social aspect to it. I have not found it difficult to limit my time there, especially after the initial novelty wore off. I can’t tell you how many times it has helped me find a link I had saved that I would never have unearthed otherwise!
I can see how it would help to organize all the stuff I have saved but that would take a while, maybe I’ll do it slowly slowly. What is the benefit of adding people? Can’t you just use it to organize stuff you find?
Yes, definitely! Although others can still choose to follow you… would that bother you? I don’t think there is currently any way to block people from following you and re-pinning your pins. I may be wrong?
I don’t know about preventing repinning, but you can choose to “unfollow” people. I’ve only been on Pinterest a little over a week, but I had followers and boards I was following from the beginning and have unfollowed many of them.
