My school room is what used to be our master bedroom on the main floor of the house. So it has an attached bathroom and small walk-in closet. I really like it and it has two nice deep windows that the morning sun comes in, but it’s starting to feel small. With an oval table that seats 6, 2 bookshelves, and a matching loveseat and chair – the room is full! We are a family of 10 (almost 11) and other than my 13 year old daughter they are all boys. I started realizing that reading to all those little boys went better when they had room to sprawl out on the floor. The solution this year was to put the books I use the most in my “Thirty One, organizing utility tote” and move to the dining room, basement or living room for the group learning. This summer we are hoping to finish a room in the basement for our school room. I’m still going to be open to moving around though.
We are moving into a different house soon and I LOOOVE our schoolroom there. It is the entire third floor of our house. It has dormers on three sides with double windows in each dormer and overlooks the beautiful PA countryside. I painted the walls yellow and the floor bright red. I am so looking forward to having our schoolroom up there. It’s taken us a year of hard work to get the house almost liveable.
We drove through PA during a winter vacation last year and it was beautiful even covered in snow! Please let us know when we can see the photos. Especially the view out the windows!!
