Leif the Lucky question

    Does anyone know what kind of bird is pictured on p. 39 of Leif the Lucky by D’Aulaire?  We decided they are not penguins, since penguins live in the southern hemisphere…..but we don’t know what they are!

    I don’t have the book with me, but could it be a puffin?  They are similar to penguins, but a bit smaller and do live in the northern hemisphere.
