Learning Two Languages At Once

We have been slowly learning some French using the Mango app through our library. Today my son who is seven asked if he could learn German instead. We read a book a while back about a German family and he thinks it would be interesting. Should we stick with only one language at this age to avoid confusion? Or are kids capable of learning two foreign languages at once?
