As I’ve reflected on some previous threads re. the web, technology & kids, I realized that I want to expose dd to what’s good, interesting & relevant in s-l-o-w-l-y increasing doses. I don’t want to throw her into the ocean without a surfboard or lessons in surfing, so I’ve created a squidoo lens with links, videos, etc. that I’d like for her to visit this year, Friesian’s Websites to Explore. I will not use my kids’ names online, hence the code name Friesian.

DD will visit each one and comment accordingly (narration Wink). I’ll add to the lens throughout the year with new links and things. This is something we do together because I don’t want her to stumble upon something I’d rather her not see (like related youtube videos that really aren’t).

I share it here in case its useful to those with kids entering this stage. I’m trying to include things related to our current studies, history (module 4 – Middle Ages), science (horses, for now), art (picture studies), and just fun stuff, too.

Thanks to Jimmie for this idea, dd loves it!

What a nice use of technology. We also took a guided approach to introduce our children to how to use the Internet.

I must say I love the mix of the Pavarotti video followed by The Rabbit of Seville. 🙂

Love it!!  I hope you don’t mind, but I think I’ll be sharing this with our son and exploring with him.  Thanks so much for sharing the link!  Cool

I don’t mind at all. I hope to find interesting links to add each month.

    Blessings,

    Christie
