Didn’t know if any of you saw this today, but LBC is having a sale on a huge file of accumulated CM resources to help raise money for their ministry in Africa. The link is here:
That is a new site for me, Bookworm. Have you used any of their resources before? Do they work well on an e-reader? I don’t want to have to print everything. $27 is a great price, but not worth it if I never use it. I need to know more before I buy. Thanks for sharing for those who know more about what it is.
No, I haven’t used them myself. Normally their curriculum is quite expensive. But I do believe the site to be run by good people who truly understand CM methods. I haven’t purchased the package and probably will not; I don’t need most of the items myself. My kids aren’t young anymore. Hopefully someone who has used their products might have more info for you. I just got the link in my email box from another vendor today.
I bought their curriculum in the spring, but did end up returning it all. I love their philosophy (and ministry in Africa) and they are very true to CM’s methods. That said, I found it to be very expensive for what I was actually getting in the manual … it was nothing much more than I do for an hour each weekend to plan my upcoming week. I felt odd spending that much money when I could do the same thing on my own. Also, part of what I love so much about SCM is that I can combine my four children in several subjects, which I suppose I could do with LBC, but then I’ve spent the money on each core curriculum only to use bits and pieces. They do have quite a lot of wonderful book selections, but I was not thrilled with their approach to science. They are a really good, honest group of people though and they do have a fantastic satisfaction policy if you decide to give it a whirl. 🙂
