Of those of you who have this, would you say it’s too young for the young adult set (12 and 13) or no?
I already have the Handbook and was wondering if I could use the new children’s companion or if it’d be too youngish for them to listen to/use independently.
What do you think? What are the recommended age ranges?
We used it today for the first time at the breakfast table. We are reviewing attention. It took us 5-10 minutes and I used it with kids from 12.5 down to 3. I do not feel so far that it’s too young. The lessons are brief. I’m not sure I’d assign it independently to older kids, but as part of a brief family teaching moment, I like it. Have you checked the samples?
I am having dd12.5 listen to CM’s Ourselves on audio in addition.
I keep putting this in my cart but wonder if we’ll actually use it with my 9 and 13 year older. I will look at the samples again first. I’d like to hear from others who have been using it with this age range.
My oldest is 11 and hasn’t complained about it being too young. I think the stories and readings are better suited for her age than my younger ones. I could see some of the activities being a bit young, but I don’t think she’ll mind…she loves any sort of activity! We’ve only done a lesson together so far, but I did skim the books. I think the sample pages would give you a good idea of the books.
