    HI Carrie,

I didn’t get around to it last year. I just wasn’t able to collect the supplies in time. I’ll be able to this year so I’m still going to use LfC; I’m just not going to get the activity bk. for my son (I will for my dd), but I already bought the reader.

I know that the DVD will come in handy if I’m not able to get with him, so it suits his self-teaching tendencies, my husband can follow along by watching the DVDs; you can access games on their website and I’ve already seen the benefit of electronic reinforcement with our Hebrew program, plus it has the readers; again I’ve seen the benefit of having readers in our Hebew program in that it provides the reinforcement and practice needed.

Hopefully, Christie will chime in; if not, you can PM her and ask her.

    Sorry I can’t help w/Latin Primer.

Has anyone used Prima Latina with younger students?

I used Prima Latina when my dd was younger. Now she is using First Form Latin by the same company. I like Memoria Press products.

We started using Latin for Children a few weeks ago, so I’ll put in a plug for it.  I’m using Primer A for my ds, ages 13, 12, and 10.  My dd 7 and 6 are using Song School Latin.  I have no Latin background at all, but I’m finding this quite easy to teach.  All my children are enjoying it and ask to do it each day.  In fact, I hear them chanting the conjugations all day long!  We have spent quite a bit of time on the first chapter in order to learn the method, but now we are able to move through more quickly.

I did purchase an activity book for each of them.  In retrospect I probably should have just purchased the Primer book for each of them.  The Primer book contains all the instruction, plus some worksheets and a chapter quiz.  The activity book may have some fun worksheets, but the real meat is in the primer imo.

My kids are age 10 and we all really enjoy Getting Started with Latin.  We use the downloaded lessons online with the book as the author gives a little more info on the downloads than just in the book and we get the benefit of hearing how to pronounce the words.  Our library actually has this book.  Maybe yours does as well so you can see how it lays out?
