We are looking at Latina Christiana but I really want to use it for all the kids. Any ideas for someone who has never used Latin before?

My 14yo started Getting Started with Latin this past fall and is doing excellently. I really like it and I think it makes a great beginning program for Latin.

OK.  Do you mean that your children are 10 and 14?  I wasn’t sure if you meant that or if you meant you were teaching 14 ten year olds.  LOL

GSWL is actually a really good choice for younger children.  I used it to begin a gentler introduction with my 10yo last year, as I wasn’t sure he was ready for a more intensive program yet.

Both GSWL and LC are really beginner programs, more suited to the younger ages than to a 14yo.  Both can be USED with an older child, but the pace should really be moved up and you’d have to move to a more intensive program pretty quickly, especially if you are thinking high school credit.  If I remember right, Latina Christiana says to equal a high school credit in one year you need to do LC I AND LC II AND part of Henle.  I would think something similar for GSWL–it is definitely not enough vocab or grammar to equal a high school credit.

I would be teaching from ages 10-14. We have 8 children so they will all be working together

    Thanks for all the info
