Language Arts Excitement!! & A Thanks to SCM Team

I am super duper excited!!!!!!!!
I was able to return what we have not used to Winter Promise and get a refund!!!!!!((happy dance))So, I have ordered and downloaded Spelling Wisdom (book 1) for my daughter and Queen’s LL for both my son and daughter!!! Yippee! We are going to use library books (from the SCM guide) for reading, and copywork from our family Bible study.
Oh, and to add to my excitement, we got The Adventures of Prickly Porky by T. Burgess at the library yesterday. My kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! We have already read 10 chapters!!!
I am now using my Planning Your CM Edu. to get my year on track and love this book! Seeing the Big Picture really helped me to “chill out” about some things. It has taken me a little time to get past the whole idea of waiting for certain subjects until they are older. Now , after seeing the entire plan written out, I can see that they will be doing so much EVERY year as they get older, and I am okay with slowing down and enjoying these younger years. I also am seeing how much they learn on their own from reading good books!
This is all such a wonderful blessing to me! Thank you Sonya (and your helpers) for making this all so plain and easy. My children are enjoying learning again, and I am so greatful!!!

That’s how I felt when I found this website! Last spring, I spent late nights (sometimes into the wee hours) researching homeschool stuff online. I finally become so overwhelmed and frustrated and demoralized that I bowed my head and cried, “Lord, teach me how to teach my children.” I can’t remember now if it was that same night, or the next day, but I found Simply Charlotte Mason right away after that, and immediately knew I could stop wading through all the rest. SCM was the first thing I’d found that combined all the elements of hs that I wanted, AND made it manageable to boot!
It is just such a relief to me! I’m glad that I made your day, MJ!
And yes, SCM is everything that I have been looking for!

Chiming in to say this is exactly how I felt when I found this place, too! Everything finally made sense after some *big* misses with curriculum. I truly feel this is how the Lord wants me to raise and teach my kids!

Another great thing about this site that I just figured out is the Bookfinder! WOOHOO! I needed to figure out how many chapters I needed to schedule out for history this year and was beginning to stress a little. I do not own all the Module 5 books and was going to depend on the library, so I had no idea how many pages or chapters were in the books we plan to read. But, once again, SCM to the rescue. The Bookfinder tells you how many pages are in each book!!! Now I know that I have to schedule 121 divisions over 32 weeks. We will read from our history books 4 days a week! How cool is that! 😉
