I just wanted to share what we are working on for Christmas gifts for each other. I had my four children, ages 10, 8, 7 & 5 pick names and then they are making something for their name with my help.

For my DD10 who loves to draw, I found a plain black sketch book marked down for only a couple of dollars back in the spring and DS took some material (that I had DD pick out prevoisly) and we glued it on with the hot glue gun. We may add a ribbon or bow to the cover too.

For DS8 who loves baseball, I am helping DD7 make a frame to hold basball cards. He will be able to change them as he wishes.

For DD7 who likes to sew, I am helping DS5 make her a pin cushion.

And for DS5 who loves playdough, my DD10 will make some for him.

I am not making anything for them or my husband as I simply do not have the time, but some day I hope to do that again. (I used to).

Anyone else care to share ideas?

Thank you for sharing, Kristen!  I would love to hear more ideas!  I think my children would really enjoy making gifts for each other!

One year my 11 yo dd made her sisters – a ribbon hair barrett for the 10yo, a coloring book for the 3 yo, and a stuffed teddy bear for the 2yo.  She drew a picture of her and her dad and glued it to an empty container making a “bank” for him to collect his change in (he has a lot because he hates carrying it, lol).

The 10yo dd made her 11 yo sister a glass bead bracelet, she colored and laminated a letter and number book for the 3yo, and we printed and put in small photo album printouts of color/shapes to make a little book.  She also made me a bracelet.

The little ones covered clean, empty cans with fun scrapbook papers to make a pencil holder for the olders desks.

They have also made ornaments for the tree for each other.

This year the older ones are embriordering towels for Grandma.  I haven’t given it serious thought yet, though. 😉
