Zoe update, 03/21/12 – Sonia and Zoe are on their way from From Mercy Hospital in Roseburg to Portland’s Doernbecher Hospital in an ambulance tonight. When they left the hospital here in Roseburg Zoe had a very high fever, 104.4 and a rapid heart rate (in the 160s) The doctors in Roseburg could not get either one to come down very far. They are trying to determine if she has an infection in her PIC line and they are also wondering if she could be having an appendicitis. There are, at this point, a lot of answered questions. This we know, Zoe is really struggling with nausea, a bad headache she has had for two days and is very scared about going back up to Doernbecher’s. Sonia has asked me to keep everyone updated since she has so much going on right now…and she is very tired. Keep praying friends and family…keep praying. Thank you.
And a few minutes ago:
Zoe update: Zoe is in getting a CT scan right now. I will let you know when I know the results of that. She still has the same high fever and rapid heart rate she had last night. Please pray that the new test will reveal some answers to the questions. Thank you all so very much for continuing to lift her up to Jesus.
Thank you all for your prayers. I know her family very much appreciates it.
Thank you for your prayers. Here is another update from Zoe’s aunt:
Zoe update #3 – Sonia just called. They have discovered that Zoe has 4 or 5 nodules on her lungs. They are going to have to do more test to try and discover what those are. I guess crohns can spread to all other parts of the body…they aren’t sure that’s what this is but that is one guess. This is something new, and as you can imagine…adds more concern. They are attemping to take a lot of blood to run all kinds of test but they are having trouble due to the fact that she is anemic. All the more reason for more prayer…
More PRAYER…many have decided to fast and pray for Zoe today and our church is organizing a prayer meeting for Zoe tonight at 7pm. If you are available and are in our area you are welcome to join us. If you cannot come to where we are than please unite your prayers with us starting at 7 and continuing thru the hour. We want to bind our hearts together in unity for Zoe and her family and call upon the strong Name of our Lord on her behalf. Thank you for your continued prayers. “Our God is Good, and His faithful love endures forever!”
I am happy to report that Zoe’s heart rate is down to around 100 and the fever is down as well. Her IV has tolerarated all that they needed to get into her last night as well. Praise God! Also, Dad took really good care of her thru the night and kept his daughter calm and peaceful thru it! Good job, Dad! 🙂 believing today for big turn around and for God to show up in force! Praying that Mom slept well last night and that she will not show up here before 930! 🙂 she needs the rest! Today they will be checking her heart…believing they will find it in perfect condition, in Jesus’ name! Please continue to pray that the bleeding will stop, the crohns be gone and her whole body will be healed for the glory of our God. Thank you again to all of you who continue to pray for them. Be blessed, ya’ll!
I just spoke with Sonia and she wanted me to let you know that the test they did on the tissue samples of Zoe’s colon came back negative for infection. That is bitter sweet information because that means that the reason Zoe’s Colon is so inflamed and soar is probably mostly, if not completely, due to Crohns. They have started Zoe on a new kind of anitbiotic that is suppose to protect her colon from the other two antibiotics she is on and in some cases has sent crohns patients into remission. So, let us pray that it does. It does not release into the blood stream but goes directly to the stomach and colon. Tomorrow they will be looking at Zoe’s lungs again to see if those nodules are still there…please be praying that they are gone. On Monday, they will probably be doing the surgery to put in the port in her chest…PLEASE be praying about this proceedure that it goes perfectly without complication. And mostly at the moment, Zoe needs prayers of courage. The blood thinner shots that she has to have every twelve hours burn going into her body and she is so very, very tired of pain and discomfort right now. They also have to draw blood once a day. We still need to do battle for her peace…that Jesus will help her to mentally and spiritually cope with all that is happening.
I am going out of town today, I have a concert tomorrow morning. But after the concert I am heading up to Portland and will be with Zoe and Sonia at least until Monday, maybe Tuesday. Brandon and Makayla are going up tomorrow for the day. Please pray for traveling mercies for us. Words cannot express how greatful I am for all of you who have committed to Fight along side us in prayer for our precious Zoe. There are many unknows about her health right now but we know that Jesus knows all, has a plan, is not afraid and able to keep her every step of the way. With this knowledge…comes peace. God bless you all.
We’ve been in the middle of a move. Still are. So it has been hard to keep people updated on dear Zoe.
She did get to go home last week. She will be conitnue IV antibiotics for her staph infection for around 6 weeks. She is on a blood thinner for the blood clots. Her parents want to take her for a 2nd opinion and will be working on doing that now that Zoe is home. Thank you for the continued prayers for Zoe and her family. She still has a long road to recovery.
