    OK, curriculum junkie here. At least I have to check out whatever I stumble upon. Found this at lulu.com while looking for something else. Does anybody know anything about it? The brief sample looked very CM.

    “nerakr” – Did you ever find out anything about LLTL?  I just stumbled upon it this morning and came right to SCM to see if anyone had used it and what they think and found this post, but sadly nothing but your question.

    I am on the yahoo group and everyone on the group is raving about it. They are saying it’s gentle and so effective.

    Not really. Only what I’ve seen of the samples at Lulu. I searched the threads b/c I thought it was discussed recently; I was asking about Spelling U See (not out yet except for mom bloggers who do reviews) and was referred to Reading Lessons through Literature by the same author. Maybe this will revive the topic, though.

    I’m using LLTL level 3 and RLTL level 1 with my boys. Do you have any specific questions? I really enjoy the program, it’s simple but effective and is working very well for us.

    What are the ages of your boys? It seems RLTL is good for spelling too. Would you agree?

    I have looked for the forum rules and can’t seem to find them so I really hope I’m not breaking them by posting a link to a blog that isn’t my own.  I found this review of LLTL and there is a link to download 100 pages from Level 1-3.

    Mrsmccardell-my boys are 11 and 6. Yes, RLTL can be used for spelling.

    Do you think it is possible to do LLTL level 1 without the workbook?

    Yes, the workbooks are optional.

    Ok, two more questions.

    (1) Would the dictation passages in the program (I’ve downloaded the sample) be enough for spelling or will I need another program?

    (2) If one of the literature selections doesn’t work for us, could we leave it out and just do the copywork/dictation in the book?

    The dictation passages should be enough for spelling. You can leave out any of the literature selections and still do the exercises anyway.
