We are about to have to do our first (in 15 years of homeschooling) standardized test. I was explaining to my 3rd grade son today about different parts of the test and how they work. We got to the reading comprehension subject. I told him there would be a section that he reads and then there will be questions about what he read. He looked awfully confused. All of a sudden, the light went on in his little head, and he said, “Mommy, it’s like narration isn’t it except it has questions?” I chuckled. At least all the diligence of painful narration is paying off. Hopefully, his test scores reflect that.
