Oh, I’m so bad at anything computer-related….I went to put in dictation for my 6th grader.  I usually just assign dictation from something he’s reading, so how do I do that?  If I do add a resource and just type in dictation, how many divisions would I put in?  Usually, he would study the dictation passage every day for a few minutes and then we would actually do the dictation on Friday.  So, would I add divisions or choose no divisions?

I’m assuming I’ll have many more questions the next few days as I start using this.  Please bear with me.  (I did watch all of the helpful videos, I promise – but I’m not guaranteeing that I won’t ask a question that was already answered!)  Smile

You’re very welcome to ask questions. And I’m glad you’re posting them here, because others will be able to benefit from them too. Smile

My first thought for setting up dictation the way you do it would be to put in divisions called “Week” then add in maybe 36 divisions (or however many weeks in your school year). When it shows up in your Daily Plan, it will read “Week 1” and you can check off Worked On for each day that he works on it and Finished on Friday (or whatever day it is) when he actually does the dictation lesson. Plus, you could add a Note telling what each passage was, if you want to.
