Just Sharing Some Thoughts

I just spent a little while looking back over all the threads I have posted in the last couple of years on this forum and I was thinking how I wish I could delete many of them! LOL!!

I have questioned this and changed that so many times that it makes me appear to be quite insane! Then I began thinking about how much I have learned from all of the mistakes and all of the many, many questions I have asked over time and eventhough it is a little embarrassing to look back….it was necessary for me.

If I had not tried so many things and asked so many questions and read so many books I would most likely be using a boxed curriculum, following someone else’s schedule to a “T”, driving myself and my kids MAD, and sucking all the life and fun out of learning. I had to test things for myself and see first hand that there is a better way to learn. I had to change my thinking about what education is. Now I am so very, very thankful for all the mistakes and changes I’ve made, because these past couple of years of trial and error have taught me so much about children, parenting, education, and being what God wants me to be. I’ve also learned that my education should not have stopped when I finished “school”, and that knowledge is the most valuable to me. In trying to find the best way to teach my children, I have discovered a new found love for learning myself.

So…as the new year approaches, I just want to say thank you to all who have helped me so far as I continue to homeschool myself :)…oh, and my children too.
