Just found out we are moving! HELP!

We moved about 18 months ago.  My oldest and youngest (9 and 2 at the time) are super sensitive to change…as in…they DON’T do it!!! 🙂  We drug our kids to all the houses we looked at.  We set up expectations very clearly on the behavior we expected so we would not feel out of control.  They were awesome and we still talk about some of the houses we saw…and we saw some crazy things!  We were open to them about the entire thing bc, especially, my oldest needed the information so she felt a little less out of control.  When we finally found a house we REALLY liked, we took crayons and paper,etc for them to do while we made a real look through to make a decision.  They were part of the process and mine really needed to be. 😉

We took 1 week off for school…I know that sounds insane and everyone around us thought so.  But you may understand since your oldest doesn’t adapt to change well 😉  It was SUPER important to keep our routine as much as possible…it just isn’t an option to do otherwise…my oldest and youngest don’t “go with the flow.”  So we packed up all our school stuff together in totes and knew where they were at all times.  

For the same reasons, my children’s bedroom were the first thing unpacked and put together…including all things that they had hanging in their old rooms…they needed it to be as similar as possible.  They are just now ready to make it different.
