    I was given a bunch of books, this being one, and am trying to figure out what year this might be a good fit to add to our literature list.  Anyone else read Journey to the Center of the Earth and when?

    We did it as a read aloud last year when my kids were 8-13. It worked for that at those ages. For reading on their own I’d stick to ages 11+. It had a lot of long descriptive passages which can be tough.

    Just did it as a read aloud this year (8 children ages 13 down to 1).  My friend read it to her four children at the same time as it was for our book club (hers were ages 12-1).  Everyone enjoyed it and followed the story because we read in short readings more often instead of longer readings once a day.

    I’m “ear reading” it now with my 11 yo.  🙂 He is enjoying it.
