Have any of you listened to Jonathan Park? I picked up Volume 1: The Adventure Begins at the 2nd hand store for $2. Are they good? Are they something I want my kids to listen to? Do they teach based on Christian beliefs or on a specific denominations beliefs? Do you recommend them?
They are excellent. They aren’t denominational (although VF is Calvinist based), these are solely about teaching the truth of Creation as interpreted by a literal 6 days, not Calvin theology. They are also pro-homeschooling and pro-traditional male headship in marriage (as opposed to liberal versions). Pro-capitalism in the one where they are dealing wtih Communist threats as they existed in the Cold War. My children have learned so much.
We REALLY like them, too! My kids, especially ds8, have learned SOOOO much from them. They have started a lot of very interesting and productive conversations around here. I would highly recommend them.
Not sure about that specific book, but just to share a different perspective, I have some very strong concerns about Vision Forum and some of the concepts they promote. This site is an excellent source for more information. http://rethinkingvisionforum.wordpress.com/
Wow, Questa7, I am going to have to look into that some more! As for the Jonathan Parks cd’s specifically, our family loves them. We listened to them on our recent trek to Alaska, and they re-ignited our passion for learning more about the world around us.
What an excellent deal for $2! I wanted to echo the above posters. Our family has enjoyed listening to the JP Cd’s over the years and have found there to be more emphasis on Creation science rather than theology. We are also very thankful the VF ministry.
And for anyone wanting to purchase them the best deal far and away is to buy them at libraryanded.com . You can get a free membership as homeschoolers and they have great wholesale prices. That is where we bought out JP cds.
