It's Working :)

    After just 3 days of using living books, I can already tell a huge difference in my children’s enthusiasm! Normally they would whine and complain about history, science, or literature that we read together, but for the last 3 days I have seen huge changes! We started Apologia Zoology 3 on Monday and they LOVE IT!! (not exaggerating) In our history reading on Tuesday, I was begged (for the first time EVER) to continue reading the history story until finished (Christian Liberty Press’s American Pioneers and Patriots)!! And today we read chapter 1 of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe without one complaint!!!! I am amazed!! You have no idea how many different books I have tried to read to them or have them read in the past year. They would listen because I MADE them, not because they enjoyed it. My daughter (age 9) has started several books without finishing them because they did not hold her interest. This is such a relief to me! Now I can pick from the SCM list for great books for them both and know that they can enjoy reading!

    I’m so glad you feel this way, Amanda!  It’s been about 3 weeks for us and I keep waiting for dd to say “not again” like she used to, but it’s been great.  I like it too, which is a big plus!
