We have got SNOW! We got 14 inches overnight and it is still coming down out there. I think we’ll have a white Christmas this year. Sending each of you blessings and warm winter wishes-
How exciting!! I would love snow please send some our way(TN)! We had temps in the 70’s yesterday and will today as well . My children and I are so ready for winter to come our way and bring snow. We are hoping it gets cold after Thanksgiving so we can get in the Christmas mood!
Snow missed us last week. My brother got a slight dusting, as did the Twin Cities. Not us! Missed us by that much! LOL (I really dislike snow and cold…) I’ll take an inch or 2 for Christmas, then it can all go away again.
We were in the 70s here yesterday too! Chillier and raining here today…we’re going home to Cincinnati for Thanksgiving, so the kids are hoping, even praying for snow there that weekend.
Well I’ll be the lone Scrooge and say I am NOT ready for snow and am NOT ready for winter! I used to LOVE it, (and I do get excited to see a beautiful snow…had a white Christmas last year) but it’s amazing how living on a farm can change your outlook on such things. I do not enjoy milking cows with frozen fingers and frozen patches that we and the cows are slipping and sliding on. And we live in TN so it doesn’t get that cold. so hope you enjoy it…and keep it…
I too live on a farm in TN and have milked our cow Rose in the cold, and its not fun at all! However I am ready for some colder temps so I can look forward to decorating for Christmas after Thanksgiving, it just doesn’t seem the same when its 70+ degrees outside hanging Christmas lights. Christmas decorating is still a week or so away from us, so Im hoping its at least in the 60’s LOL. I have lived on a farm all my life, so I know about how not fun it is freezing especially busting the ponds so cattle and horses can drink. Then about killing youself in the barn because of ice! LOL However cooler temps will be a welcome site to me, I love colder weather! We have so many good memories of stripping tobacco when it was snowing outside, even though we about froze to death, my family still had so much fun together. Theres nothing like being in a barn with a tarp for the door, and the sides venting because of curing tobacco on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years freezing to death, gloves don’t do anything for the cold in your fingers and bones and I can say I don’t miss being that cold! LOL
dmccall3 – We’re in Southeast Alaska and this is very unusual for us.
We’re in a rainforest so snow is kind of a novelty, especially this much and especially at sea level. We do have a ski resort so we do get snow in the mountains, but the sheer amount is the exciting thing right now. We may have another 12 inches tonight, breaking all previous records for snowfall. Luckily it’s not cold at all – we’ve been hovering around 35 and the ground isn’t even frozen yet. So, very mild yet beautiful – perfect sledding weather!
Oh, and perfect homeschooling weather too. I guess.
