Is CM really for visual learners?

I’m curious about something. We have always tried to have a mostly CM homeschool. At times we have gone a more traditional route depending on a specific need or season of life. My kids and myself are definitely more visual learners and somewhat hands on. It seems like they do much better with textbooks or workbooks that have nice pictures, etc. I hate to admit that. Lol! Other than picture/artist studies it doesn’t seem like the CM method lends itself very well to visual learners. While it’s mostly accomplished through literature there’s not much to catch the eye. Of course there’s always ways to add that visual aspect I am not always good about seeking stuff out. Am I wrong?

Are you keeping maps, a nature journal or science journal, a Book of Centuries? Are you just doing picture studies or adding art lessons too? Handicrafts?

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I have 1 child so far who really appears to learn better with pictures in her school books. I don’t think CM means no illustrations in books. She is currently reading through The Greeks by Roy Burrell I think. It’s an old SCM recommendation. She is learning a lot;) you could also find pictures on line to go with the science and history books.</p>
