bethanna, I actually love your basket looping idea. My biggest reason for skipping a subject is not being prepared. That system seems like a good solution.

Thanks! 🙂 I want to try it again, but I may divide them by day instead of subject.  I’m looking to rearrange our space and those baskets may be stored in a different room. Our daily items like the scripture memory box will stay in the living room where we usually work on or start on family work.  So if we only get through 3 or 4 baskets one week, we can pick up where we left off the following Monday.

How old are your children? I have The Occident planned for my rising 6th grader for the fall but wondering if you read it aloud to your family? It is such a wonderful book!

We read it aloud this year.  My kids were ages 14, 10, 7, and 6.  We enjoyed it very much.  Each Monday I read a chapter and then we stickered and labeled our large wall map.  Most weeks I found a YouTube video about the place we read about, also.

I’m hoping the Orient will be as enjoyable.

Thank you! This inspires me to add Halliburton to our morning liturgy. My kids are 12 (nearing 13), 10, 8 (nearing 9), and 7. Might be lovely together.
