Here in the U.S., we are celebrating Memorial Day, and it has been a weekend to remember and honor those who have served our country, particularly those who gave their lives to gain and protect our freedom. I thank those who have served and those who are currently serving in the armed forces. God bless you all!
On another note, this has been a weekend of perplexing and forgettable events. This morning, my sister suffered a heart attack. God is good, though, for they found that two of her arteries had begun widening on their own to accomodate greater blood flow. A third artery is still not wide enough, but the doctors are very hopeful that it can be treated with medication and not surgery.
Additionally, my children were in an uproar today as they waited….and waited….and waited for their dad to pick them up to take them on a three-day vacation to Lake Chautauqua. This afternoon, he called with the news that he had hit a deer while on the highway coming to get them. After a lot of hollerin’ on their part and some heated discussion between their dad and his girlfriend, they found a way to come and get them, so the trip is back on.
*Sigh*
I am hoping and praying for 1) complete recovery and peace for my sister and her family, 2) traveling mercies and a safe, enjoyable time for my kids, and 3) a little peace and quiet for myself!
I hope you all have had a safe and happy weekend.
