What would be the best way of entering a book with multiple chapters, but knowing in advance you will not be using every chapter. I am using Truth Quest for history and one of the books that it refers to frequently is “A Child’s History of the World”. I will only using it about 40% of the time. Should I enter the entire book and then at the end of the year, just indicate what chapters we did not read, or should I only enter the book with the chapter as I have it on the calendar? Looking for the most practical way, it looks like I may have a handful of books that fall in the same catagory.
When you schedule the book, you can specify which chapters you want to use. So you could type “Use Chapters: 1-6, 9, 12, 20” for example, if you know ahead of time which chapters you want to leave out. Only the chapters you list will show up on your Daily Plan.
The other way to do it would be to use the Don’t Use link in the Daily Plan. If a chapter pops into place and you decide you don’t want to use it, you can click that Don’t Use link and that chapter will go away and the next one will pop into place. The Don’t Use link is to the right beside the Show Two Weeks link. This approach would probably be easiest and most flexible because you wouldn’t have to make all the decisions of which chapters to use and not use up front. You could decide for sure as you go along.
THANK YOU! I never thought about option 1, but I did think about Option 2. I think I am finally wrapping my brain around this amazing software package. Thank you for answering.
